Pre-Admission Workshop for Underrepresented Pre-Dental Students
Program Information
The purpose of the UTHSC Pre-Admission Workshop for Underrepresented Pre-Dental Students is to increase the number of successful dental school applicants from historically underrepresented groups and broaden the dental school support network for these students. The itinerary provides students with guidance on navigating the course, and relationship building opportunities with students and faculty dentists who will cheer them on along the way. The program will take place March 31st through April 2nd 2023. Hotel accommodations will be provided to all participants, along with a $200 travel stipend to those eligible. Eligibility
Applicants must have:
- A minimum 2.75 GPA
- Completed mock application
Other factors for consideration include:
- Students identify with a group that is racially/ethnically underrepresented in the health professions.
- Comes from an economically or educationally disadvantaged background; and/or
- Has demonstrated an interest in issues affecting underserved populations and dedicating their dental career to relieving oral health disparities
