Sports Medicine Fellowship
The University of Tennessee-Campbell Clinic Department of Orthopaedic Surgery Fellowship in Sports Medicine is a 12-month fellowship program in sports medicine. Sports medicine fellows are expected to have completed an ACGME residency program in orthopaedic surgery.
There is one position offered annually. The fellow will develop the knowledge and skills necessary to initiate and administrate a community-focused sports medicine practice that serves high school, collegiate, professional, high school and recreational athletes.
The fellowship program will emphasize all aspects of primary care sports medicine including illness, injury, operative and non-operative treatment. This includes study of the pathology and biomechanics of athletic injuries and the physical and psychological manifestations of sports injuries and conditions.
Time and facilities are available for clinical and basic science research projects in the University of Tennessee Anatomy and Pathology Department. Campbell Foundation support staff is available to assist in this research. Fellow is required to work on at least one research project during the fellowship year. It is expected that this research will result in a presentation, a publication, or both.

Attendance is mandatory for the meeting when sports topics are discussed - Fellow will be required to present at least two conferences during the year on a topic of his/her own choosing.
