Suicide Prevention Resources

Need help now? If you or someone you know needs help immediately, please call 911, 988, or 1.800.273.8255 or text START to 741741.

If you see someone behaving dramatically differently than usual, it may signal that this person needs help. If you have a gut feeling that something is not right, you should act on it. If someone is threatening their own life or someone else’s life, this is an emergency. If you feel comfortable, you should bring your friend to the Emergency Room, or call 911 or other emergency services immediately. If it’s safe to do so, stay with that person or do what you can to contact them or find someone to stay with them until help arrives.

Get help....

If you’re in crisis, there are options available to help you cope. You can also call the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline at any time to speak to someone and get support. For confidential support available 24/7 for everyone in the United States, call 988. If you don’t like talking on the phone, you can reach the Crisis Text Line by texting HOME to 741741. If you’d like to talk to a peer, warmline.org contains links to warmlines in every state. If you’re not in the U.S., Find a Helpline for a link to crisis centers around the world.

I lost someone to suicide...

Losing someone to suicide is a tremendously painful and complicated experience. There is no set path or timeline for grieving, and each person processes their loss at their own pace and in their own way. There are no simple answers; however, there are many resources to support people who experience this type of loss.
