UT College of Medicine Chattanooga Research
The University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine Chattanooga has a long history of quality research performed by medical students, residents, fellows, faculty, and community partners.
Research priorities have previously been established for our campus by the UTHSC College of Medicine Chattanooga Dean's Office in concert with the respective Departmental Chairs, faculty, and Erlanger physicians.
Current research being conducted on our campus and with our partners, Erlanger Health Inc. and the UTHSC College of Medicine Chattanooga includes industry sponsored clinical research trials and investigator initiated research projects in the following areas:

The UTHSC College of Medicine Chattanooga provides support to faculty and staff in their efforts to obtain external funding for investigator-initiated research and other sponsored projects, while ensuring compliance with University policy, sponsor policy, and applicable law. The UT Health Science Center in Memphis has made a commitment to making the Chattanooga campus a member of its network in striving to become one of the top health science research entities in the United States.
Giuseppe Pizzorno, PhD, PharmD, is Associate Dean for Research for the UTHSC College of Medicine Chattanooga. He holds the rank of Professor in the Department of Medicine. Dr. Pizzorno is also appointed as the Chief Research Officer for Erlanger Health and its Clinical Research Institute.
