Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Do you have funding for electives?
Answers
Do you have rotations abroad?
We are working diligently with LMMU, our partner in Lusaka, Zambia, to develop an international exchange. The ultimate goal is to provide a platform for trainees at both universities to travel abroad and participate in educational and cultural experiences. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our progress has slowed due to international travel restrictions, but we are confident that we will continue to move towards an international elective in the next 1-2 academic years.
Do you have funding for electives?
We are working closely with GME and our partner hospitals to ensure that residents will be able to receive their salary while engaging in GRIT sponsored electives. We are very grateful for the wonderful hospital systems that are supportive of our local and global outreach efforts and support our residents in this way.
How do I apply for GRIT?
Applications to the GRIT Track are open in April each year. To apply you must be in good academic standing with your residency program and write a statement of interest describing your interest in global health and how you hope to use global health in your future career.
