Collaboration
Dr. Rob Williams/Dr. Lulu’s Lab to collect bone and serum samples from their BxD mice strains for many years. Now we have submitted micro-CT analysis data to Genenetwork, and have identified several QTLs, gene loci, and interest genes to affect bone phenotypes. We are preparing manuscripts for publication and potential grant application.
Dr. Gwendalyn King at University of Alabama at Birmingham to work on Klotho/Fgf23 project, which characterize the bone and serum phenotypes in Klotho/FGF23 transgenic mice.
Dr. Jerome Baudry and Dr. Jeremy C. Smith in Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) to supercompute PKD1 GAIN and transmembrane domains in silico screening for drug discovery. Development of targeting molecules for PKD1 GAIN domain will be beneficial to treatment of polycystic kidney disease and metabolic bone disease.
Dr. Amber Rath Stern, Dr. Mark Dallas, and Dr. Mark Johnson at Department of Oral & Craniofacial Sciences, UMKC School of Dentistry on polycystin bone mechanosensing project for many years. We are preparing manuscripts for publication and potential grant application.
