About Us

History

The current pathology training program at UTHSC in Memphis was formed as a result of the merger of 3 training programs affiliated with the University of Tennessee, Methodist Hospital, and Baptist Hospital in the early 1980s.

This single training program is affiliated with several institutions including Methodist University Hospital and Baptist Memorial Hospital as well as the VA Medical Center, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and American Esoteric Laboratories. These affiliations make our program one of the largest training programs by volume and offer a wide variety of cases in anatomic and clinical pathology.
