How many residents are in your program?

We currently have 11 residents and aim to remain around 11-15 residents in total. On average, we recruit for 3 residents per cycle.

Are there minimum score requirements for USMLE Step I or Step II?

There are no minimum score requirements; however, higher scores will give you a better chance of getting an invitation to interview. With new scoring designs, other factors that will be considered include experience, GPA, the MSPE, and Letters of Recommendation.

Do you require US clinical experience?

US clinical experience is not required. Experiences are viewed in light of the entire application.

Is there a requirement on how many years since graduation from medical school?

No, there is no requirement. The length of time since graduation is considered in in the setting of the entire application and experiences of the candidate.

Are your residents required to do research?

Each resident is required to complete at least one project during their program of training. This can vary from patient safety, quality improvement, translational research, a case series, or more in depth longitudinal studies. We want residents to tailor their experiences to their ultimate career goals.

Do you have research rotations?

No, we do not offer dedicated research months. Projects are completed at the same time as clinical rotations. Most residents complete their research projects during lower-volume or lower-acuity rotations.

Are there opportunities for off-site rotations?

The department does not financially sponsor rotations off-site, however residents rotate through multiple diverse clinical sites.
