Established in 1952, Le Bonheur Children's Hospital is an integral part of the Methodist
Le Bonheur Healthcare system and a teaching affiliate for the University of Tennessee Health Sciences. A new $340-million hospital building was built in December 2010 to accommodate the
over 100,000 patients seen each year.
Named one of the nation's "Best Children's Hospitals" by U.S. News & World Report for eight consecutive years, Le Bonheur is the only Level 1 pediatric trauma center in the Mid-South. Its neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) provides the highest level of care for the region's critically ill newborns. Le Bonheur has received many accolades of excellence over the years including: Top Children's Hospital in 2017 by the Leapfrog group for its safe patient care, Magnet status - one of only 7 percent of hospitals in the U.S. to have earned this honor for quality nursing care by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), and a three-star rating (the highest) by The Society of Thoracic Surgeons for its Heart Institute.
Acute dialysis, CRRT, plasmapheresis, and Aquadex are provided for inpatients at the Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital. The outpatient dialysis program has an average census of 12 chronic hemodialysis and 2-6 home peritoneal dialysis patients. The kidney transplant program averages 8-10 transplants per year, partnering with transplant surgeons of the Methodist Transplant Institute/University of Tennessee Division of Transplantation.

pediatric cancer hospitals by US News & World Report consecutively for the past 18
years. St. Jude and the World Health Organization recently announced a five-year collaboration
to cure at least 60% of children worldwide with the six most common types of cancer
by 2030.

The UT Health Sciences Pediatric Nephrology division provides the pediatric nephrology consultation and all dialysis services for the St. Jude Children’s Research hospital or both inpatient and outpatient care.
Outreach Pediatric Nephrology Clinics
Pediatric nephrology provides outreach clinic support for general nephrology care
in Jackson and East Memphis. These outpatient centers provide the same comprehensive care as our downtown locations
but allowing further reach and connections closer to family’s homes. Additionally,
we maintain a robust telehealth service.
Partnering with general pediatrics, cardiology, nutrition, surgery and sleep medicine, we also provide hypertension clinic support within the Healthy Lifestyles clinic, a multidisciplinary clinic for patients struggling with obesity and comorbid complications.
Regional One Health

Regional One Health (ROH) was established in 1829, making it the oldest health system
in Tennessee. In addition to being the home of the Elvis Presley Trauma Center, Regional One Health also includes several other Centers of Excellence in Burn, High-Risk
Obstetrics, and Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU).
ROH is the largest medical and surgical teaching site for the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. More than half of Tennessee's doctors will receive some, if not all, training at
ROH. The partnership between Regional One Health and the University of Tennessee
Health Science Center includes the UT Regional One Physicians group, the largest teaching physician group of its kind in the Mid-South.
The division provides pediatric nephrology consultations for the Newborn Center at Regional One Health.
Pediatric Nephrology Clinic
There is an average of 2000 outpatient visits per year to the pediatric nephrology clinic. The clinic specializes in all aspects of pediatric nephrology care, including acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, hypertension, nephrotic syndrome, glomerulonephritis, kidney stones, urinary tract infections, congenital anomalies, cystic diseases, genetic kidney diseases, metabolic bone disorders, etc.
The pediatric nephrology clinic is held in the 4th Floor of the Pediatric Outpatient Center located at 51 N. Dunlap Ave. The entrance to the parking garage is on Manassas St. behind the building and in between Washington Ave and Adams Ave. Parking is free – you push the button and gates will automatically open.
Typically a referral is needed from our child’s pediatrician or primary care provider,
unless they were seen while hospitalized or referred by another specialist. For appointments,

Kidney Transplant Clinic
There is an average of 60 patients followed in this clinic with approximately 400-500 visits per year. We have two specific pediatric kidney transplant coordinators that help provide comprehensive

Le Bonheur Children's Hospital Dialysis Program
Le Bonheur Children’s is West Tennessee’s only pediatric chronic outpatient dialysis
center. The unit is located on the first floor of the Children’s Foundation Research Center, 50 N. Dunlap Ave.
The dialysis unit has seven stations for chronic hemodialysis and an exam room for
peritoneal dialysis visits and teaching. Our staff also provide inpatient support
for acute dialysis needs at both Le Bonheur Children’s and St. Jude Children’s Research
Hospital.
Tuberous Sclerosis Complex Center of Excellence
Le Bonheur Children’s TSC Center of Excellence is a leader in clinical care and research of tuberous sclerosis complex, a genetic disorder that causes tumor growth in organs throughout the body. The multidisciplinary clinic provides patients with access to experts in cardiology, dermatology, genetics, nephrology, neurology, neuro-ophthamology, neuropsychology, neuroradiology, neurosurgery, neurogenetics, and neurodevelopmental all in one setting, providing care from childhood through adulthood.
