Meagan Giovanni, DO
Bio
Meagan grew up in Michigan and completed her undergrad at Syracuse University in New
York. She began medical school in Arizona at A.T. Still University and moved to Chicago
for clinical rotations. Meagan completed her residency in pediatrics at Maimonides
Children’s Hospital, in Brooklyn, NY. She is thrilled to be exploring yet another
new state, but especially to be in the PEM Fellowship Program at LeBonheur Children’s
Hospital. When Meagan is not working in the ED or studying, she enjoys gardening,
snowboarding, golf, and traveling.

Nicole Leuthold, MD
Bio
I grew up all over the world and have a love of travel to this day. I completed pediatric
residency at LeBonheur and am fortunate to stay for PEM fellowship. In my spare time
I raise 3 young boys with my husband, Andrew. I also enjoy reading and cooking so
I'm always looking for a new read or recipe.

Maury Strong, MD
Bio
Maury is from the New Orleans area. She went to LSU New Orleans for medical school,
then moved up to Memphis for her Pediatric residency where she is continuing on for
her PEM fellowship. Her favorite hobbies are traveling, cooking, watching LSU sports
and the Saints play, and finding the best restaurants in Memphis. All of this has
gone on the back burner though as her and her husband Robert just introduced their
daughter, Eleanor into the world!

Heather Becker, MD
Bio
Heather was born in Portland, OR before moving to CA. She attended medical school
at AUC School of Medicine on the island of Sint Maarten. She did her pediatrics residency
at the Lehigh Valley Reilly Children’s Hospital in Allentown, PA. She has a passion
and special interest in pediatric disaster medicine. Outside of medicine, she enjoys
traveling, spending time with her husband and daughter (soon to be daughters!), and
watching the Phillies games!!

Asia Edwards, MD
Bio
I’m from South Carolina and that’s where I did undergrad and med school. I completed
my EM residency with UTHSC and I’m really excited to continue training in Memphis!
I have one fiancé, 2 dogs, 3 fish tanks, and around 30 plants. My favorite things
to do are travel, nap, and drink fancy wine.

Daniel Slabaugh, DO
Bio
Dr. Slabaugh was born in Harrisonburg, VA but raised in Sarasota, FL. He attended
State College of Florida for his associates, University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee
for his bachelors, Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine for his medical degree,
and University of Tennessee Health Science Center for his Pediatrics residency training.
He is thrilled to be staying in Memphis for his PEM training given the acuity, variety,
and volume of patients seen in the ED. In his spare time, Dr. Slabaugh enjoys video
games, trivia nights, nerdy table top games of any type, exercising, and watching
trash reality TV with his boyfriend and his perpetually dieting cat, Walnut.
