Academic and Ambulatory Care Post-Doctoral Fellowship

The UT Health Science Center College of Pharmacy Academic & Ambulatory Care Post-Doctoral Fellowship is a two-year fellowship designed to mentor post-graduate pharmacists for a career in teaching and clinical service in primary care.

Ambulatory Care ImageThe UTHSC College of Pharmacy Academic and Ambulatory Care Fellows are immersed in all elements of academia, including teaching/precepting, patient care, research/scholarship, and service. The fellows’ time is split between the college and practice site.

Teaching opportunities include large and small classroom experiences, didactic lectures and active learning facilitation, interprofessional teaching, simulation, and experiential. The clinical practice experience is focused on primary care, sustainability, credentialing, and financial viability of pharmacy services.

Fellows will participate in research focused on the scholarship of teaching and learning and primary care pharmacist services and serve on college committees related to curriculum and assessment. Fellows are encouraged to enroll in UTHSC Teaching and Learning Center programs or enroll in master’s level coursework.

Requirements

Graduation from an ACPE-accredited
college/school of pharmacy.

Must be licensed or eligible for licensure
in Tennessee.

Demonstrated strong interest in ambulatory/primary care and career in academia or teaching.

Preferred: Completion of ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency or comparable practice experience.

Locations

One Position at each UT Health Science Center College of Pharmacy Campus: Memphis, Nashville, and Knoxville.

Details

Two year position.

Teaching includes didactic, experiential, and inter-professional.

Mentorship in research/scholarship project.

Leadership and service opportunities.

Clinical practice specifically focused on primary care, sustainability, credentialing and ability to provide financial viability of pharmacy services.
