Internal Medicine-Radiology Preliminary Track
The UT-Methodist Diagnostic Radiology program is an advanced program in the NRMP match. This requires each resident complete a PGY-1 training year in either a preliminary medicine, preliminary surgery, or transitional year program at any institution of the applicant’s choosing. The University of Tennessee Health Science Center offers a one-year Internal Medicine-Radiology-Radiology Preliminary track.
The UT-Methodist Diagnostic Radiology and Internal Medicine-Radiology Preliminary programs have collaborated to provide a unique opportunity for those applicants that match within the Diagnostic Radiology program. Internal Medicine-Radiology Preliminary program reserves a certain number of positions for those residents who match within the Diagnostic Radiology program without needing to interview with the Internal Medicine-Radiology Preliminary separately.
