Contract Process Confidential Disclosure Agreement (CDA)
Sponsor contacts PI or Research Contracts unit of OSP. If OSP receives the document, OSP will forward it to the PI.
PI submits document via electronic routing system for department, college, and campus approvals. OSP reviews document and negotiates final contract language, attaches final version and contract certification form in electronic routing system, and obtains institutional and sponsor signature.
OSP uploads final executed contract in electronic routing system and notifies PI and Business Manager (and Sponsor if they signed first).
Sponsor sends protocol to PI.
Clinical Trial Agreement, Research Agreement, Subaward Agreement
PI submits the agreement in electronic routing system for department, college, and OSP approval.
OSP reviews the document and negotiates acceptable language and reviews budget. OSP obtains University official and sponsor signatures, uploads executed contract in electronic routing system and notifies PI, department, and UT Sponsored Programs Accounting. SPA sets up account and notifies PI and department.

Material Transfer Agreements (MTAs)
MTAs are contracts with terms that govern the transfer of tangible research materials between two or more organizations (universities, non-profit entities, or for-profit entities). The MTA defines the rights of the provider and the recipient with respect to the materials and any derivatives and modifications.
