About:
Zoom allows faculty, staff, and students to have high-quality interaction in real
time from their computers and mobile devices. Zoom's web-based conferencing uses high-quality
video and audio and is accessible on MacOS, Windows, iOS and Android mobile devices.
Zoom also includes free telephone bridging, so you can bring in participants via telephone
as well. The Zoom recording feature will allow you to save a session for future reference
and/or send it to those who are unable to attend.
Getting Started:
The following steps will get you Zooming in no time.
- Go to https://tennessee.zoom.us
- Click the Create or Edit Account button
- Login with your UTHSC NetID and Password
- An account will be provisioned for you automatically
- Click the Edit link located in the upper right corner of the window
- Complete your profile by entering UTHSC in the Company/ Organization field
Free access is available for all UTHSC faculty, staff, and students. All students may create a Zoom Basic account. Basic Zoom services allow users to host unlimited meetings of 40 minutes in duration with up to 50 participants.
UTHSC faculty and staff may upgrade from a basic Zoom account to a Zoom Pro account if:
- calls longer than 40 minutes
- more than 50 participants
