Family Mentorship
The family role is unique in that the experience of being a family member of an individual with a developmental disability cannot be learned in any university course. The family's experience is an irreplaceable body of knowledge and respresents qualifications to improve service to families beyond what any degree or certification might provide. The discipline of family is represented at the Center on Developmental Disabilities. Trainees within the discipline of "family" aid us in the training of graduate students in health fields. Additionally, our family trainee participates fully as a trainee in our didactic LEND curriculum and our clinical LEND curriculum.
