Where You’ll Train
- Erlanger Baroness Hospital: high-acuity adult emergency medicine, trauma, and critical care in downtown Chattanooga
- Children’s Hospital at Erlanger: a dedicated pediatric emergency department, and the only hospital in the region devoted solely to children
- Community and rural emergency departments: community emergency medicine in the PGY-3 year and a rural emergency medicine selective, preparing residents to practice where resources are limited

Beyond the Emergency Department
- Ultrasound: a dedicated anesthesia and ultrasound block in PGY-1, taught by faculty with the ABEM Focused Practice Designation in Advanced Emergency Medicine Ultrasonography
- EMS and air medicine: an EMS block in PGY-2, LIFE FORCE Air Medical flying from six bases across four states, and department EMS medical direction for a 14-county region
- Chattanooga MedComm: the regional medical communications center for EMS in Southeast Tennessee, run from Erlanger’s LIFE FORCE Communications Center
- Simulation: a simulation curriculum led by our Simulation Director
- Scholarship: a research curriculum with faculty mentorship and biostatistical support through the University of Tennessee
