Tri - Clinics
The University Tri Clinic brings together three specialized programs of the UTHSC College of Dentistry, the Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) Clinic, the University Dental Practice (UDP), and the Special Care Clinic, all aimed to provide comprehensive, patient-centered dental care in one convenient location. Located on the main floor of the Delta Dental Building, the Tri Clinic integrates advanced education, faculty practice, and specialized care to serve a wide range of patient needs.
Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) Clinic
The AEGD Clinic provides comprehensive dental care for adults, offering a full range
of advanced treatments including crowns, bridges, dental implants, and root canal
therapy. Patients receive high-quality, personalized care from licensed dental residents
working under the close supervision of experienced faculty. The clinic is uniquely
equipped to manage complex and multidisciplinary cases, ensuring every treatment plan
is tailored to patient needs while preparing residents to excel as well-rounded clinicians.
Special Care Clinic
The Special Care Clinic is dedicated to serving individuals with special healthcare
needs who may face barriers in traditional dental settings. Our compassionate team
delivers high-quality, accessible care with a focus on dignity, comfort, and respect.
As part of our educational mission, the clinic also trains dental students and residents
to provide comprehensive care for patients with unique medical, physical, or emotional
considerations, helping expand access to oral health for all members of our community.
University Dental Practice (UDP)
The University Dental Practice features a distinguished group of UTHSC College of
Dentistry faculty practitioners—leaders in their respective specialties who combine
academic excellence with clinical expertise. The practice offers a full spectrum of
general and specialty dental services in a professional, patient-focused environment.
With an emphasis on innovation, precision, and excellence, the UDP provides private-practice-level
care supported by the latest advances in dental science and technology.
