Didactics, Lectures, and Simulation

  • Didactics occur every Thursday (7a-12p) with simulation taking place the last Thursday of each month
  • Lecture formats include direct instruction, interactive sessions, small groups, as well as "flip-the-classroom" exercises.
  • Weekly quizzes ensure retention on previous topics

Required Reading (Provided by the Department)

  • Every lecture series corresponds to chapters from Tintinalli’s Emergency Medicine
  • ROSH Review access is available and recommended to track progress

Exam and Board Prep

  • USMLE Step 3 / COMLEX 3 must be completed by March 1st of PGY-2 (no exceptions)
  • The annual In-Service Exam is mandatory and prepares residents for the ABEM Qualifying Exam after residency
