SCD Boot Camp Curriculum and Agenda
The Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) Nursing Boot Camp was developed using an evidenced-based SCD curriculum developed by nursing experts from throughout the United States - the Sickle Cell International Expert Nursing Curriculum Committee (SCIENCC). The curriculum included patient engagement and was designed after a landscape analysis of SCD healthcare providers and patients to determine gaps in SCD nursing care. The SCD bootcamp curriculum covers SCD care throughout the lifespan. The objectives of the curriculum are as follows:
1) Understand nursing care of people with SCD throughout the lifespan.
2) Understand health disparities and inequities that impact nursing care of people with SCD.
