Professional Development

The UTHSC College of Nursing is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's (ANCC) Commission on Accreditation. We use evidence-based ANCC criteria to plan, implement, and evaluate high-quality Nursing Continuing Professional Development activities. 

The goal of the College of Nursing NCPD Unit is to plan and offer professional development opportunities to individuals for continued personal and professional growth.

Lori Ranallo is a board-certified, oncology nurse practitioner at the University of Kansas Cancer Center, where she has cared for women with breast cancer for more than 30 years. She is certified in Clinical Breast Care, Genetic Risk Counseling, Lymphedema Management, Tobacco Cessation Management and End of Life Care.  She is a recipient of the 2022 Magnet Nurse of the Year, 2015 Ingram's Heroes in Healthcare Award, 2011 Hematology/Oncology Nurse of the Year Excellence Award.
