Partnership Enrollment Programs

LeMoyne Owen College (LOC) and The University of Tennessee (UTHSC) College of Nursing (CON) offer a Partnership Enrollment Program (PEP) that guarantees full admission to the accelerated or traditional BSN programs at UTHSC to any LOC student who fulfills the requirements of the PEP. In addition, the LOC student may elect to participate in a bridge Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), or PhD program if all requirements are met. The requirements for participation  The requirements for participation are outlined below.

Requirements for Intent to Enroll:

• Currently be enrolled at LeMoyne-Owen College.
• Successfully complete all coursework.
• Be in good academic standing.
• Comply with the LeMoyne-Owen College code of conduct during time of enrollment.
• Complete UTHSC's CON Agreement to Enroll Form.

Requirements for Admission to Accelerated BSN Concentration

• Complete their baccalaureate degree from LOC with a minimum overall combined 3.0 GPA for the accelerated BSN PEP, or a minimum overall combined 3.0 GPA for the BSN PEP leading to the DNP Bridge PEP, or the PhD Bridge PEP as computed by the UTHSC CON.
• Have a 2.6 or better GPA for science pre-requisite courses: BIOL 201 and 202 with lab (General Anatomy and Physiology I and II) or BIOL308 and 309 with labs (Human Anatomy and Human Physiology) and BIOL 304 with lab (Microbiology) (calculation is based on the highest grade achieved on the first or second attempt); Applicants must earn a C or better on all pre-requisite science coursework. (If enrolling in the DNP or PhD PEP, it is highly recommended to complete BIOL 330 - Biostatistics).

Requirements for Admission to Traditional BSN Concentration

• Completion of an Associate’s Degree in General Studies from LOC with a minimum overall combined 3.0 GPA (as computed by the UTHSC CON) and meet all other requirements.
• 2.6 or better GPA for science prerequisite courses: BIOL 201 and 202 with lab (General Anatomy and Physiology I and II) or BIOL 308 and 309 with labs (Human Anatomy and Human Physiology) and BIOL 304 with lab (Microbiology) (calculation is based on the highest grade achieved on the first or second attempt); Applicants must earn a C or better on all prerequisite science coursework. – If enrolling in the DNP or PhD PEP, it is highly recommended to complete BIOL 330 (Biostatistics).

  When the nursing student is approved for the UTHSC CON Partnership Enrollment Program, their proposed undergraduate program of study will be reviewed by a UTHSC CON advisor to ensure that all program requirements will be met under the plan. UTHSC will be provided a paper or electronic copy of the LeMoyne Owen catalog each year. Any changes to the student’s curriculum plan of study must be  approved in advance by LeMoyne Owen College advisor and UTHSC CON advising to ensure that the plan
  continues to meet all requirements. Advising will be ongoing throughout the student’s enrollment at LeMoyne Owen and continue through their enrollment at UTHSC CON.

The Bridge Program

The Bridge Program grants PEP students who graduate from the BSN and meet all criteria admission into the DNP or PhD programs.

Requirements to Enter the Bridge Program

• For Bridge DNP and PhD Program eligibility, have a minimum GPA of 3.0 to be maintained during the accelerated BSN program. The NCLEX must be passed and an unencumbered RN license obtained.
• If enrolling in the Bridge DNP Program PEP, students may matriculate to any DNP concentration with the exception of the Dual DNP/PhD, Nurse Anesthesiology, Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, or Nurse Midwifery programs. If any of these programs are desired, a special agreement will be required and preapproved by UTHSC CON to be sure clinical requirements are met prior to entry into these concentrations.

Dillard University and The UT Health Science Center (UTHSC) College of Nursing (CON) offer a Partnership Enrollment Program (PEP) that guarantees full admission to the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) or  Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing Science (PhD) programs. Students who complete the bachelor’s or master’s degree in nursing at Dillard University may enroll in the UTHSC DNP or PhD program if all requirements are met. The requirements for participation are outlined below.

Requirements for Intent to Enroll

• Current enrollment at Dillard University
• Successful completion of courses
• In good academic standing.
• Confirmed compliance with Dillard University code of conduct at the time the student signs the Intent to Enroll Form.
• Complete UTHSC CON Agreement Intent to Enroll Form.

 Program Eligibility

• Complete a Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Nursing from Dillard University with a minimum overall combined 3.0 GPA for the DNP PEP as computed by the UTHSC CON.
• For DNP Program eligibility, a minimum GPA of 3.0 is required to be maintained during the BSN and/or MSN program and the NCLEX-RN must be passed, and an unencumbered RN license obtained and maintained.
• For BSN to DNP applicants, eligibility requires residence and licensure in Tennessee, Arkansas, or Mississippi.
• For MSN to DNP applicants, Mid-South residence and licensure is not required. Clinical experience cannot be guaranteed in the applicant’s area of residence.
• For PhD program eligibility, a match with the focus area of one of the PhD faculty is required.
• Compliance with the provisions listed in the Agreement Intent to Enroll Form.
• Successful completion of all courses and completion of bachelor’s or master’s degree courses from Dillard University.
• In good academic standing.
• Students may matriculate to any DNP concentration at UTHSC with the exception of the Dual DNP/PhD, Nurse Anesthesiology, Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, and Nurse Midwifery concentrations. In addition, the Rhodes student may elect to participate in a bridge Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) or bridge PhD program if all requirements are met. The requirements for participation are outlined below.

• Currently be enrolled at Rhodes College.
• Successfully complete all coursework.
• Be in good academic standing.

Requirements for Admission to the Accelerated BSN 

• Complete their baccalaureate degree from Rhodes with a minimum overall combined 3.0 GPA for the accelerated BSN PEP, or a minimum overall combined 3.0 GPA for the BSN PEP leading to the DNP Bridge PEP, or the PhD Bridge PEP as computed by the UTHSC CON.
• Have a 2.6 or better GPA for science pre-requisite courses:Comparative Vertebrate Morphology and Animal Physiology OR Human Anatomy and Physiology I and II, and Microbiology (calculation is based on the highest grade achieved on the first or second attempt); Applicants must earn a C or better on all pre-requisite science coursework.

The University of Tennessee Southern (UTS) and the UT Health Science Center (UTHSC) College of Nursing (CON) offer a Partnership Enrollment Program (PEP) that guarantees full admission to the accelerated concentration of the BSN nursing program at UTHSC to any UTS student who completes the required degree in Biology or Public Health Education. In addition, UTS students may elect to participate in a bridge DNP or bridge PhD program if all requirements are met.

Requirements for Intent to Enroll

• Current enrollment at UTS.
• Minimum score of 23 on the ACT.
• Successful completion of courses.
• In good academic standing.
• Confirmed compliance with UTS code of conduct at the time the student signs the Intent to Enroll Form.
• Complete UTHSC CON Agreement Intent to Enroll Form.

Requirements for Admission to the Accelerated BSN concentration

• Complete a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology or Public Health Education and pre-requisite courses from UTS with a minimum overall combined 3.0 GPA

In addition, the Sewanee student may elect to participate in a bridge Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) or PhD program if all requirements are met. • Currently be enrolled at  Sewanee.
• Successfully complete all coursework.
• Be in good academic standing.

Southwest Tennessee Community College (SWTCC) and The University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) College of Nursing offer a Partnership Enrollment Program (PEP) that guarantees full admission to the traditional BSN program at UTHSC to any SWTCC student who fulfills the requirements of the PEP. This agreement includes graduates of Medical District High School, who earn either a general studies or allied health associate degree from SWTCC simultaneously with their high school diploma. 

Requirements for intent to enroll:

• Current enrollment at SWTCC
• Good academic standing
• Compliance with the SWTCC code of conduct
  during time of enrollment
• Completion of UTHSC’s CON Agreement Intent to Enroll Form

Requirements for Admission to the Traditional BSN Concentration

• Complete a minimum of an Associate Degree in Allied Health or General Studies and prerequisite courses from Southwest Tennessee Community College with a minimum overall combined 3.0 GPA (as computed by the UTHSC CON) and meet all other requirements.
• 2.6 or better GPA for science pre-requisite courses: BIOL 2010 Human Anatomy and Physiology I (4 credits) and BIOL 2020 Human Anatomy and Physiology I I (4 credits) or BIOL 1230 Microbiology (4credits) (calculation is based on the highest grade achieved in science courses, only one science course may be repeated); Applicants must earn a C or better on all pre-requisite science coursework. 

– If enrolling in the DNP or PhD PEP, it is highly recommended to complete BIOL 330 (Biostatistics).

Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) and The UT Health Science Center (UTHSC) College of Nursing (CON) offer a Partnership Enrollment Program (PEP) that guarantees full admission to the traditional concentration of the BSN nursing program at UTHSC to any Dyersburg State Community College student who completes the required general education and pre-requisite courses. In addition, Dyersburg State Community College students may elect to participate in a bridge DNP program if all requirements are met.

Requirements for Intent to Enroll

Requirements for Admission to Traditional BSN Concentration

• Complete a minimum of an Associate Degree of Science with an emphasis in Health Science, and pre-requisite courses from Dyersburg State Community College with a minimum overall
  combined 3.0 GPA for the traditional BSN PEP or the DNP Bridge PEP as computed by the UTHSC CON.
• 2.67 or better GPA for science pre-requisite courses: BIOL 2010 Human Anatomy and Physiology I (4 credits) and BIOL 2020 Human Anatomy and Physiology I I (4 credits) or BIOL 2230 Microbiology (4credits) (calculation is based on the highest grade
  achieved in science courses, only one science course may be repeated); Applicants must earn a C or better on all pre-requisite science coursework.
• To enroll in the Bridge DNP, applicants must be in good academic standing and be in compliance with DSCC code of conduct. Students may matriculate to any DNP concentration with the exception of the Dual DNP, Nurse Anesthesia and Neonatal Nurse Practitioner concentrations. If any of these concentrations are desired, a special agreement will be required and preapproved by UTHSC CON to ensure clinical requirements are met prior to entry into these concentrations.
• For Bridge DNP Program eligibility, a minimum GPA of 3.0 is required to be maintained during the traditional BSN program. 
• Compliance with the provisions listed below in the Agreement Intent to Enroll Form.

Matriculation and Advising

• When the student is approved for the UTHSC CON Partnership Enrollment Program, their proposed undergraduate program of study will be reviewed by a UTHSC CON advisor to ensure that all program  requirements will be met under the plan.
• UTHSC will be provided a paper or electronic copy of
  Dyersburg State Community College catalog each year. Any changes to the student's curriculum plan of study must be approved in advance by Dyersburg State Community College advisor and UTHSC CON advising to ensure that the plan continues to meet all requirements.
• Advising will be ongoing throughout the student's enrollment at Dyersburg State Community College and continue through their enrollment at UTHSC CON.

The Bridge Program
The Bridge program grants PEP students who graduate from the BSN and meet all criteria admission into the DNP or PhD programs.

• Successfully pass NCLEX-RN and obtain an unencumbered RN license prior to matriculation into the DNP Program.

Arkansas State University Mid-South (ASU Mid-South) and The UT Health Science Center (UTHSC) College of Nursing (CON) offer a Partnership Enrollment Program (PEP) that guarantees full admission to the traditional concentration of the BSN nursing program at UTHSC to any ASU Mid-South student who completes an Associate of Science in Health Studies Degree with the required general education and pre-requisite courses. In addition, ASU Mid-South students may elect to participate in a bridge Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) or bridge PhD program if all requirements are met.
