Lisa Beasley, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, AFN-C

Dr. Lisa Beasley joined the UT Health Science Center College of Nursing faculty in 2020. Prior to joining the college, she was Director of Clinical Education and a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Memphis Loewenberg College of Nursing. Dr. Beasley hosts a podcast called, "That's Healthful," teaches in the college's DNP program, and is part of the team implementing the $1.5 million HRSA grant for Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner training and certification in West Tennessee. She is the inaugural Director of the Center for Community and Global Partnerships.

Jayne Collins-McKinnie

Jayne Collins-McKinnie is the Community Outreach Administrator for the College of Nursing, where her role includes providing leadership in the overall plan for community events including distinguished lectures and professional development, managing the MAPS (Management of Aggressive Patient Situations) training certification program, and other projects.  She provides administrative support for the College of Nursing clinical faculty in the ULPS faculty practice group and the Center for Community and Global Partnerships. McKinnie has held administrative and financial roles with the university for 25 years.

Brandi Asbill, BSN, RN

Brandi Asbill joined the UTHSC College of Nursing in October 2022 as the project coordinator for the ANE-SANE HRSA Advanced Nursing Education Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners program. Asbill received her bachelor of science degree in nursing from Western Governors University. She has more than 15 years of registered nursing experience. Her areas of practice include emergency medicine, pediatric emergency medicine, pediatric trauma, and outreach education.

Tina McElravey, MPH, BSN, RN, NHDP-BC

Tina McElravey is a public health nurse leader and advocate who currently practices as the project coordinator for the UTHSC Nursing Mobile Health HRSA grant. McElravey earned her master's degree in public health from East Tennessee State University, a post-graduate certificate in Applied Epidemiology from UTHSC, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Memphis. She is board certified in emergency preparedness.

Dr. Alise Farrell

Alise Farrell, PhD, MSN, RN
Assistant Professor, College of Nursing

Alise Farrell joined UTHSC  in January 2006 as a Clinical Instructor in the BSN program. Her responsibilities at UTHSC include didactic and clinical instruction for Introduction to Professional Practice and Maternal Child Health. She also assists with clinical practicum for the internship and works in the skills lab and simulation. Dr. Farrell has more than 30 years of experience as a nurse, as well as experience in clinical nursing administration, critical care, and staff development. She earned her PhD in Nursing Science from UTHSC.

Karen Nellis BSN, RN, AE-C
Research Nurse Manager, College of Nursing

Karen Nellis joined the College of Nursing in 2019 as the research nurse manager for the HRSA Advanced Nursing Education Workforce grant. Before coming to the college, she worked for Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare for 18 years, primarily in the NICU. She earned her BSN at Baptist Memorial College of Health Sciences.

Sara Day, PhD, RN, FAAN
Professor and Assistant Dean

Dr. Sara Day is the Assistant Dean for the Center for Community and Global Partnerships. Before joining the UTHSC College of Nursing faculty, she was the Director of Nursing Education and the Director of International Nursing at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Associate Professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, School of Nursing, and Director of Nursing Research and Evidence- Based Practice at Children’s Hospital of Alabama.
