Critical Care
The University of Tennessee Critical Care Medicine fellowship program is one of the best clinical programs in the country. We have graduated five fellows in the past 2 years since the program started, who have gone on to the practice throughout the country.
Our four hospitals expose us to diverse pathology that enables well-rounded and robust training in Critical care.
Our services are fellow driven, providing autonomy with adequate supervision, promoting organizational and leadership qualities from the beginning. Our rotations are busy, providing hands-on patient care experience to the fellows in training enabling them to be full-fledged intensivists by the end of their one-year training. I
One of the primary missions of our fellowship program is to carry fellows through a rigorous training system that excites them about the science and practice of our profession and prepares them for the future of their educational dreams.
It is indeed a noble act to take care of patients in the critical care unit, saving people's lives, providing the comfort and care not only for the patients but also for the families who at times suffer more than the patients.
Our job as faculty is to prepare you for a career in critical care medicine, whether it be private practice or an academic career. This is the era of exploding knowledge base no matter what you are trying to learn, and critical care medicine is no exception.
