Fellow Life
A Community That Supports, Challenges, and Inspires
Becoming a Pediatric Cardiology fellow at UTHSC means joining a community committed to excellence, compassion, and lifelong learning. Fellows learn and grow in an environment that values collaboration, curiosity, and well‑being—both inside and outside the hospital. We’re excited to support you as you grow into the physician you aspire to be.

Annual Highlights
Pediatric Cardiology Bootcamp
Each academic year begins with an immersive Pediatric Cardiology Bootcamp, designed to build confidence and foundational skills for new fellows. Through hands‑on sessions, simulation, case-based learning, and direct faculty engagement, fellows quickly gain familiarity with core concepts in imaging, hemodynamics, electrophysiology, and congenital heart disease. Bootcamp also serves as a bonding experience, helping new fellows integrate into the team from day one.

Pediatrics Research Day
Fellows participate in Pediatrics Research Day, an annual event showcasing scholarly work across the Department of Pediatrics. This is an opportunity to present ongoing research, receive feedback from faculty and peers, and engage with innovative projects happening throughout the institution. Fellows are supported by dedicated research mentors and have access to robust resources that help them develop as clinician‑scientists.

Celebrating Milestones
From white coat moments to the final walk across the graduation stage, we take pride in celebrating the achievements of our fellows. Graduation is a highlight each year—an opportunity to honor the dedication, resilience, and growth of each graduating fellow as they move into the next chapter of their careers.
