Hayley Beene, MD
Dr. Beene was born and raised in Chattanooga, TN. She graduated from Emory University where she received a BS in Biology. She then attended medical school at UTHSC where she loved her time at Le Bonheur and St. Jude. Hayley enjoys spending time with her family and friends and watching TV, especially the NFL and Nashville Predators hockey. She also enjoys orchid and succulent gardening and exploring new restaurants and bakeries. Hayley is excited to be a part of the Le Bonheur family and to continue training in Memphis.
Molly Bryant, MD
Dr. Bryant grew up in Memphis, TN. After receiving her BS in Health Sciences at Furman University in SC, she moved back to Memphis to attend UTHSC for medical school. This is where she met her now husband, Grady Bryant, an IM resident in Memphis. In their free time, they enjoy exploring the great outdoors (especially with their pup, Bentley), sheering on an and all Memphis sports, and trying out new restaurants around the city. Molly could not be more thrilled to continue her training in Memphis at the great hospital that is Le Bonheur!
Brendan Clair, MD
Dr. Clair was raised in Somers, NY. He attended the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!) where he received a BS in Mathematics. While in college, his family relocated to Franklin, TN, which led him to enrolling at UTHSC for medical school. In his free time, he enjoys cheering on his beloved Crimson Tide and Pittsburgh Steelers, playing restaurant trivia, and “nerding out” over Harry Potter and Marvel Cinematic Universe. He is thrilled to continue his training at Le Bonheur.
Kristin Deneen, MD
Dr. Deneen is a native Tennessean originally from Nashville. She moved to Birmingham, AL, where she completed her major in Biology with a minor in Music Performance, and her medical training at UAB Heersink School of Medicine. As a classically trained opera singer, she enjoyed performing during her undergrad years and continues to sing whenever possible. In her spare time, she enjoys baking, painting, hiking with her husband Nicholas, and reading as often as possible with her cat Miko.
Kwame Duah, MD
Dr. Duah was born in Kumasi, Ghana, and moved to the United Kingdom before moving to Texas at the age of 18. He graduated from Texas Tech University with a BS in Biochemistry before earning his MD at University of Texas Southwestern. In his free time, he enjoys Sudoku, dancing, and watching/playing soccer. Kwame is still figuring out whether he is an introverted extrovert or an extroverted introvert. He is thrilled to be starting his journey as a pediatrician at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital.
Lauren Duncanson, MD
Dr. Duncanson was born and raised in Gainesville, FL, and attended the University of Florida for undergrad. Go Gators! She graduated with a degree in economics but had always planned on going to medical school. She moved to Tampa to attend the University of South Florida for med school. Lauren is very excited to be heading to Memphis to experience her first year with true seasons! She “couples matched” with her boyfriend Thomas, who is in EM. They are excited to explore the area together. Some of her favorite things are college sports, outdoor activities (camping, hiking, etc.) as well as a good book or Netflix binge.
Tori Farwell, MD
Dr. Farwell was born and raised in the small town of Beloit, KS. She attended Kansas State University where she played in the university orchestra and band while completing her bachelor’s degree in Biology. She then attended the University of Kansas for medical school. Tori is excited to move to Memphis with her cat, Gump, and join the UTHSC family. In her free time, she enjoys game nights, rock climbing, and crafting with friends.
Alexis James, MD
Dr. James grew up in Prince George’s County, MD, just outside of Washington, DC. A double alumna of the illustrious Howard University, she majored in Biology then went on to earn her medical degree. She loves music, movies, thrifting, and traveling. With a deep appreciation for art and culture, Alexis is excited to explore the vibrant city of Memphis and make it her new home. She cannot wait to experience the concerts, plays, restaurants, and outdoor activities Tennessee has to offer. Above all, she looks forward to serving the amazing people at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital.
Shannon Jones (Palmer), MD
Dr. Jones was born in California and grew up in New York. She received a scholarship to play soccer at Mississippi State University where she received her BS and met her husband. Shannon then went on to receive a MS at Tulane and then completed medical school at University of Mississippi Medical Center. For fun, Shannon and her husband, Skylar (who is a born and raised Memphian), enjoy local Memphis breweries, traveling, and family/friend game nights. Their Siberian husky, Forrest, enjoys tagging along on family adventures. Shannon and Skylar are excited to move to Memphis – the place both sets of parents call home – and are excited for all the opportunity training at Le Bonheur affords!
Srilaxmi Kishor, MD
Dr. Kishor was born and raised outside of Atlanta, GA, along with her 2 sisters. She studied Neuroscience at Georgia State University before attending The Medical College of Georgia for medical school. In her spare time, she enjoys dancing, reading, hiking, and being in the outdoors. Srilaxmi and her partner, Hasith, a neurology resident, are so excited to experience Memphis and join the UTHSC family.
Sarah Laudon, MD
Dr. Laudon was born and raised in Rochester, MN. She attended the University of Wisconsin – Madison where she double majored in Biology and Communication Sciences & Disorders. She continued on her Midwest adventures to Chicago Medical School and for pediatrics residency decided it was finally time to leave the cold winters! Sarah has interests in behavioral pediatrics and hopes to work with children with neurodevelopmental disabilities which as been inspired by her younger brother.
Kenechukwu Mbonu, MD
Dr. Mbonu was born and raised in Bowie, MD. She graduated from the University of Maryland in Baltimore County with a BS in Biology and minor in Psychology. Following graduation, she tutored middle school students for a year in Delaware through AmeriCorps and then moved to the Midwest to attend The Ohio State University for medical school. In her free time, she is a big reality TV fan and also enjoys reading, finding new music, keeping up to date on everything pop culture, and watching cute cat videos in preparation for getting her own very soon. She has always wanted to explore living in the South and loved her interview day at UTHSC. Kene is so excited to see all that Memphis has to offer!
Edward Moran, III, MD
Dr. Moran was born and raised in Memphis, TN, before attending college at the University of Arkansas (Woo Pig Sooie!). After college, Richard returned home for medical school at UTHSC. In his spare time, you can find him watching Grizzlies games, biking on the Green Line, or trying out as many restaurants as he can around the city. Richard couldn’t be more thrilled to be staying at Le Bonheur for residency!
Ryan Murphy, MD
Dr. Murphy was born in Gainesville, FL, and raised in Huntsville, AL. He graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a BS in Biochemistry with a minor in biology and film. He remained at Birmingham to attend medical school at UAB School of Medicine before moving to Memphis. He is engaged to his best friend he met through his honors college program, who is currently pursuing her DPT at Emory University. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking, watching movies, photography, and filmmaking, and even completed his first feature-length narrative film during medical school. Ryan is excited to continue his training in Memphis with UTHSC Peds!
Margo Saharovici, MD
Dr. Saharovici was born and raised in Memphis, TN. She received her BS in Biological Sciences at the University of Missouri before returning home for medical school at UTHSC. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Steven, and those close to her. In her free time, you can find Margo traveling, trying new restaurants, and cheering on Memphis sports teams. Margo is very excited to continue her training in Memphis.
Khloe Sandercock, MD
Dr. Sandercock was born and raised in Springfield, IL. She grew up playing competitive soccer and still loves to kick around when she gets the chance. Khloe attended St. Louis University for undergrad where she majored in Health Sciences. After college she went back to central Illinois and attended SIU School of Medicine. She spends much of her free time hanging out with her two wonderful nieces and sweet puppy, Vinny. Khloe loves being outside and traveling to and exploring new places.
Daniel Slabaugh, DO
Dr. Slabaugh was born in Harrisonburg, VA, but moved to Sarasota, FL, when he was only 3 months old. Thus, he isn’t quite a Florida native, yet can’t be from anywhere else. He attended State College of Florida for is Associates and obtained his Bachelor’s in Biology from University of South Florida Sarasota – Manatee before attending LECOM for medical school. In his spare time, Dr. Slabaugh greatly enjoys exercising, beating his friends in video games, and watching quiz shows or attending trivia nights, and sampling whiskeys. Daniel is very excited to join the UTHSC family and cannot wait to explore Memphis.
Joseph Stephenson, III, MD
Dr. Stephenson went to undergrad at Clemson University and med school at the Medical University of South Carolina. He is looking into doing a fellowship in either Cardiology, Heme/Onc, or ED. When Joe is not in the hospital, he enjoys hiking around Shelby Farms, going to Redbirds and Grizzlies games, exploring different breweries, and finding new places to fish.
John Jackson Taylor, MD
Dr. Taylor was born and raised in Nashville, TN. He attended the University of Richmond (Go Spiders!) where he majored in Leadership Studies and Spanish. After his undergraduate studies he moved to Jackson, MS, where he earned a MS in Biomedical Sciences at UMMC and transitioned to a research assistant position at LeBonheur with the Healthy Lifestyles Clinics prior to medical school at UTHSC. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Katie, their daughter, Emily, and their dog, Pepper. Jackson couldn’t be happier to continue his medical career in Memphis and at Le Bonheur!
Kaitlin Tillman, MD
Dr. Tillman was born and raised in Memphis, TN. She received her BS in biochemistry from Baylor University in Waco, TX, where she also minored in biology and Spanish. Following graduation, she returned to Memphis to attend medical school at UTHSC. In her free time, Kaitlin loves to cook, run at Shelby Farms, and try new restaurants and coffee shops around town. She is absolutely thrilled to be staying in Memphis to continue her training at Le Bonheur!
Eryn Vargo, MD
Dr. Vargo was born and raised in Tucson, AZ, and is now very excited to be in Memphis! Her hobbies include singing, outdoor activities, and fitness (especially Spartan races and Tough Mudders). Eryn made the move to Memphis with her wonderful husband and 2 adorable kitties. They are all looking forward to exploring Memphis!
Candice Walker, MD
Dr. Walker was born in Germantown, TN, and was raised in Hernando, MS. She received her BS in Biology from Mississippi College in Clinton, MS, and her medical degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center. In her free time, she enjoys walking her golden retriever, Eggy, reading a good mystery novel, hiking, and making a mess in the kitchen with her soon-to-be husband, Khai.
