Why did you choose UTHSC College of Pharmacy?

I chose UTHSC because it is among the top pharmacy schools in the nation. Being here means that I am guaranteed the best pharmacy education. Moreover, UTHSC felt like home the moment I walked in for my interview. The student body is so diverse and welcoming, and the faculty members are extremely personable. UTHSC genuinely cares about their students and works hard to ensure that students achieve their goals.

What is your favorite memory or experience from pharmacy school?

My favorite experience from pharmacy school is being involved in patient care and community service events. By serving and making a meaningful impact on the community, we as student pharmacists also get a chance to represent UTHSC and advocate for the pharmacy profession.

How has the UTHSC College of Pharmacy helped or prepared you for your career goals?

UTHSC has challenged me to step out of my comfort zone, take on leadership roles, and truly explore my potential. I became involved with the research, the Admissions Committee, and APhA-ASP Operation Immunization. Besides getting closer to my goal of becoming a clinical specialist in cardiology, through the endless extracurricular opportunities, I also found my passion in doing community service and organizing patient care events.

What advice do you have for prospective students?

UTHSC offers endless opportunities for you to be involved, so take advantage of it. Have an open mind and be proactive in exploring your options. Don't forget to have fun! Take a mental health break every once in a while and connect with your peers.
